biblio bambini is a place for parents, caregivers, family members, and friends to find resources and encouragement to help the little ones in their lives develop a love for reading! Reading is an important part of development for children, starting from the moment they are born. By encouraging children to read, and more importantly role modeling reading, we set up our children for literacy success! This blog is a labour of love, and if it encourages even just a few adults to pick up a book and read to a child I will consider it a success!

The face behind biblio bambini  is me, Andrea! I am a Canadian bibliophile with a passion for children’s and young adult literature. I live in Calgary, Alberta with my husband, Justin, and our polite pooch, Charlie. Aside from reading, I spend my free time cooking, camping, taking long walks to the library, movie marathons, and spending time with family and friends. Justin and I are also MAJOR board game enthusiasts and are always trying to rope people into playing a new game with us!

Me, Charlie, and Justin enjoying an outdoor game of Settlers of Catan.

I have always had a love of reading, libraries, bookstores…anything related to books! My hope is that this blog will allow me to spread my love of reading and help adults find quality books to share with their littles. A middle school teacher by trade, I know exactly how important early literacy and a love of reading is for continued academic success and self confidence.I have put together this blog as a way for adults to honour the children in their lives by giving them the greatest gift their is – a love of reading!
